Robin V. West, MD Board-Certified & Fellowship Trained Orthopedic Surgeon

Sports Medicine Specialist

Dr. Robin West is a board-certified orthopedic and sports medicine surgeon with over 20 years of clinical experience. As President of Inova’s Musculoskeletal Service Line and Chairman of Inova Sports Medicine, West directs the clinical, strategic, administrative and academic affairs of the world class, comprehensive program. She currently serves as the Lead Team Physician for the Washington Nationals. West previously served as the head team physician for the Washington Football Team, team physician for the Pittsburgh Steelers, University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University. She is an Associate Professor at Georgetown University Medical Center, a Professor of Medical Education at the University of Virginia School of Medicine, Inova Campus, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences.

West serves or has served on the board of directors of the NFL Team Physicians’ Society, the NFL Combine Medical Committee, the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine (AOSSM) and on the editorial board orthopedic Today. She is an active member in the NFL and MLB Physician’s societies, American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS), Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), and AOSSM.

A native of Southern California, Dr. West resides in Northern Virginia with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs. She is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys competing in triathlons.
